“work hard for what you want in life and keep that fight - you have to be strong and know that you can do anything you put your mind to; just keep believing in yourself, keep trying, and keep pushing. you can do it.”— Unknown
“Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t do.”— Rikki Rogers
It’s okay
It’s okay if you feel all the emotions in a single day, the top of the roller coaster and the bottom. It’s okay if something you’ve been struggling with gets the best of you, if a repeating thought still holds a bit of power over your emotional state. It’s okay if your bottoms and low points cause you to question your direction, your purpose, and your intentions. But remember this, it is okay that all of these things happen because this stage of your life doesn’t define the whole process. Going from broken to fixed is a journey and feeling your scars and overcoming your shadows is all part of the process.
It’s okay to accept and forgive yourself when you fall, when you repeat, and even when you have to take a step backwards. Know that the very idea that you’re aware of any of this and you feel a desire within you to heal, to get better and to grow is a sign that you’re on the right track. It’s okay to be a little softer on yourself during all of this. It’s okay to give yourself grace because the darkest part of the night always comes before the rise of the sun, the rise of a new You.
“Almost. It’s a big word for me. I feel it everywhere. Almost home. Almost happy. Almost changed. Almost, but not quite. Not yet. Soon, maybe.”— Joan Bauer
